GANDHI JAYANTI …???!!!

Padmaja Iyengar-Paddy
Those who lie, continue to lie.
Those who defy, continue to defy.

Those who kill, continue to kill.
Pockets, who fill, continue to fill.

Those who proscribe continue to jibe.
Those who bribe, continue to bribe.

Those who work, continue to work.
Those who shirk, continue to shirk.

Gandhi, Bapu and Father of the Nation -
Are all expressions of political flirtation!

Gandhi’s Jayantis come and go,
To which we hot and cold blow.

Many lament when October 2nd falls on a Sunday,
Since it sadly deprives them of an extra holiday!
