Special Edition: Lina Krishnan

Lina Krishnan

L’esquive

Leaf fragments
Gathered grass tufts
New mown earth
And a slim rope, unseen, almost

Green and yellow frisson
Marks its fluid pace forward
Yet staples with a backward eye
The silent watchers, in thrall

Till at last, the bush line reached

Even a snake can exhale
