THE YEAR GONE BY … HMMM …
Something old, something new,
Something borrowed, something blue.
What’s old and gone,
Over them, why cry?
Something new or is it?
Or is it all recycled grief?
Something borrowed?
How long will it last?
Something blue
A sadness hue
Or colour of the sky?
I look up with a sigh!
The year gone by …
Was a union of them all -
Old, new, borrowed, blue.
We paid for not heeding
Nature’s stern clarion call.
It was then Corona, now it’s Omicron,
Believe me, nature’s not playing a con.
It is reminding us to stay safe and well,
When we’ll be unsafe, no one can tell!
