Noise

a pot of flowers
hangs near the entrance
to the airport…
due to the noise of
the jets,
I cannot hear the flowers…

Out Here in Farm Country

out here in farm
country, insane
robots with porcelain eyes
float across poison field…
there are no daisies here, no blackberries
growing in the fence rows…
and so we
tinker
with the double helix…

Walker Art Center in Minneapolis

inside the museum
artworks fall like trees, rotten
and infested with
bugs…
outside, broken rocks
pile
up…

A Robotic Contemplation

okay, if the economy is
a balloon
floating through
time and space, money
is rapidly becoming
a thing of the past…
fortunately for the rich, soldiers
are supposed to obey orders…
while the insane robots
slobber and
sip diet soda through
red striped
straws…
and the rest of us
contemplate mortality…
