Contemporary Mahatma Gandhi (Alicja Maria Kuberska)

Alicja Maria Kuberska
Where would he have to go? What to do and what to say?
How to make hearts beat faster and opened up to other people?

How many "likes" would he have on Facebook today,
and how many persons would throw him out of their group of friends
for preaching an uncomfortable truth?

People's consciences are not easily touched
They are covered like frozen lava with a thick layer
of selfishness and indifference.

Next generations are born on the Earth,
as many as tiny pebbles on the beach.
There are many common and little precious stones.

People as beautiful as diamonds are missing,
They  are as hard as Damascus steel
and the Sun lights up the stars In their souls.
It's hard to be like Mahatma Gandhi and burn yourself in the fire of love.
