SOLITUDE OF SOUL
Locking themselves indoors,
They cherish life in a luxurious room
Timeless tech-savvy workaholics
Strive hard for mental peace!
Money, possessions, and travel,
Delicious food and souvenirs
Signify satisfaction in life,
Do materials make a man contented?
People are around me now,
But they push me far away
Physically always together
Mentally apart, mentally detached!
I quest for solace in these woods,
Where I whisper to the sea
And listen to the tidal music,
My isolated soul relaxes here!
Intellectual discussions on worldly topics,
Fun-filled moments at the sandy beach,
Sharing sadness and happiness off and on,
Give solace to my weary mind ever!
A very touching poem .Yes, as you said, a sort of sublime spiritual empathy with Nature around offers us solace to us in this material world of mechanical relationships smacking of hypocrisy of all kinds.
