Remembrance

The last time I saw you

did I notice one more crack

in the skin of your step-well

the last word that you spoke

was it a plosive or a deep glottal?

was there a faint smile or a grimace?

a slight movement of the hand

or a waking call?

Festivities

The ebb and tide of selling

rainbow dreams

the heart thumped

with great expectations

 sweat and grime

moisturized the skin

The LED lights made the eyes fireflies

the smoky aroma of food

made the nostrils swell

with pride

hunger tastes sweet as a honey-drop.
