StarChild

There are times that there is no good in “goodbye”. I say “till next time” to ease my heart pain.

How could I have known when you walked down the stairs I should have said, “Let’s play hooky and do something fun”, instead we both went to work. I never got to hug you again. Over the years, my sweet girl has managed to continue our conversation with “love from above” signs. A huge rainbow formed as the lifeguards brought Alyssa’s vessel into the beach where she played, from toddler to teen at. Bees became her messengers, cloud shapes still share stories, and peacocks gift me feathers. They sound like a typewriter while eating from my hand, always making me smile. She makes me notice the little things, from ladybugs to hugs. I now realize how huge they actually are. From time-to-time Alyssa takes me out to the cosmos for eye opening adventures. I thank her for now placing me in the whale song zone. It is a beautiful place to float, just be, and remember.

I will leave you with this thought that came to me shortly after Alyssa departed from this earthly realm. I still find it helpful.
