… and she won
The axe fell on their nefarious activity.
The axe fell on the destroyers of the forest.
She the guardian of the forest stopped them.
She held the overseer at gunpoint.
He sat with a defiant attitude,
But they had to stop the cutting of trees.
The felling of trees has been going on for years,
Deforestation has been going on for years,
For construction, for timber, for greed
For agricultural lands, for fuel, for greed.
She has watered the trees for years.
She has nourished the forest for years.
So she stood up for the trees.
So she stood up to conserve nature
And the axe fell on the destroyers of the forest.
Felling of trees stopped…and she won.
