To God on my Birthday

George Onsy
My poem and artwork

- George Onsy

To exist
Was never my choice
Yet, You did insist
To turn
My very nothingness
Into an eternal being
Of soul, mind,
And body with a heart
Yearning to get lost
In Your melting love whirl
To be both
All and part.

Now, comes again
My birthday
To let me ask:
Do You still insist
To offer me
One more year
What if I offer you
My very existence
Ceasing to exist?
Aren’t You all
That should forever
Be and exist?
