Poem: My Dream

Pushmaotee Subrun

Pushmaotee Subrun

Where there is freedom from bitter intolerance,
Where there is no discrimination of caste, colour or creed,
Where no chaotic situation prevails,
Either due to bigotry or hatred,
Where the Lord, our Creator, is deeply revered,
With recognition for Unity in Diversity,
Where there is deep gratitude, compassion and understanding,
Where there is love and respect, and goodwill,
Where a helping hand is offered,
To the vulnerable,
To helpless women, children, the aged,
The sick or the physically incapacitated,
Instead of showing indifference,
Instead of mercilessness…,
To such a Utopian world I dream to go.
To live, to feel and to imbibe the air of peace and fraternity.
