They will erase us ...They will erase the names of our fallen,
they will change the numbers on the doors,
and street names we baptized
with the names of our heroes
They will alter History and Memory.
They will say that we never held down
and ever did exist,
and no one will ever read our verses
and never again the guitars will sound
but songs in shop loudspeakers,
boosting sales that nobody needs.
They will erase us ...
And oblivion will be so scandalous
that even we, lost in the mists
of some foreign cemetery,
we will ask ourselves
if we ever really lived,
if pain, torture and lie ever existed,
if betrayal paved the interrogation houses
of tortured prisoners,
where death was
the one impossible wish.
