My writing history began in 2013, with being third prize winner in a National Short Story contest run by The India Women Press Corps, in which my short story “Crossroads” was judged as the third prize winner. Subsequently in the same year my poem “Fifteen Years of You and Me” fetched a fifth prize in the poesies online National Level Poetry Contest.
I have since penned a collection poems and short stories and a couple of my short stories, mostly slice of life pieces based on the everyday lives of ordinary women, mostly working, from different backgrounds. A few have been published in some online magazines like Active Muse and Indian Short Fiction.
In the year 2016 a piece of micro fiction of mine titled “Ram Rahim” won an entry in the International writing contest by Sampad U.K and the piece was subsequently published in their book “Inspired by Gandhi”.
In 2018, my poem “Alchemy Allusions” on the topic “Fire” was selected as one of the winners and was published in the Shishir (Winter) 2018, Poetry Collection by Active Muse.
I continue to write irrespective of everything and believe it keeps me sane and happy. Sometime later in the future I hope to compile my writings to a book but before that there’s a lot more to be written.
