Alice Chains (Freedom 2022)

Alice Chains
The Days

And as the days
Go by
Tell me I am yours
And I will tell you that I
Am made of dreams
And sacred realms
Of random words
I never
Wrote.

And as the days
Go by
Tell me I was never
And I will tell you that I
Was always an echo
A distant voice
Striving to be heard
Longing
To be yours.

And as the days
Go by
Tell me I should be
And I will tell you that I
Am roaming free
Amidst the stars
Tasting wishes
That still
Are.

And as the days
Go by
Tell me that you
And I will tell you
That I.

I am Not

I am not more than
A time traveler
A rhymer
Of thoughts
Between my past
And where I am
Not.

I am not more than
A whisperer
Of words
Weaving journeys
And stories
Between what was
And not.

I am not more than
A stranger between
Comrades
Feasting of paths
And curves
I will have
Not.

I am not more than
An unknown nomad
Eager to discover
Faraway lands,
Landscapes,
And warmth
To tell me I am home
Even when
I am not.

This Life

In this life,
Or the next
Where we meet or already
Met
Will you remember my name?
Will you know me
By heart?
Will you keep to your promise
And save me a seat
With the stars?

In this life,
Or the next
Where all the living gather
With the dead
Will you remember my eyes?
Will you see me
For who I am?
Will you still love me
In this life
Or the next
Will you wait for me
Where we met?

In this life,
Or the next
Where I am free of chains
Free to fall
Will you catch me
On the ground?
Will you want me
When my wings are down?
In this life,
Or the next
I hope we meet
Where we never met.
