feather by feather
a tiny bird 
comes alive

sunset
broken light knocking
prison doors

city birds
flying in
oxygen resorts

4.
azure sky
clouds weaving
featherbeds

5.
old trees
cut by sawmill
elegant hope chest

6.
dense forest
now a clean-shaven look
bullish real estate

7.
snowstorm
chilling to the bone
thumbs down

8.
momentary pause
day breaks into 
morning raga

9.
rail tracks
running into evening
shadows.

10.
large pools
reflecting
purple clouds

11.
birds taking flight
ready to migrate
to a new war zone

12.
sprawling creepers
rain falls
all around me

13.
hospital bed
watching the descent
of grey evening

14.
art galleries
walls filling up with
autumn leaves

seashells
listening to your

Bio: Gopal Lahiri is a bilingual poet, critic, editor, writer and translator with 27 books published, including eight jointly edited books. His poetry and prose are published across various anthologies globally. His poems are translated in 16 languages.
