FINDING MYSELF
I was confused, I was distraught.
Negativities and sadness I fought.
Then into myself I delved.
In solitude and silence I found myself
Deep, deep within me I dived.
Happiness resurfaced and I survived.
Threw away whatever was fake
Salvaged goodness for my own sake.
I could find out the truth at last.
Skimmed out the lies out fast.

My soul was happy in the solitude
No vices, no confusion could intrude.
In that hour of calm and peace
I embraced the bliss I could cease.
Deep, deep within me I dived.
Happiness resurfaced and I survived.
The steps of quietude I could hear.
Solitude and silence was so very dear.
In that hour, the grass was green, the sky was blue,
And within myself, I found my Xanadu*.

*Xanadu—an idyllic place
