Exclusive: Best of Women Poetry: Edited by Padmaja Iyengar-Paddy
BLURRED PHOTOGRAPHY
The girl committed suicide
swallowing slowly
less and less colourful pills
staring at the dead end
of the street ahead
stroking her Persian cat with one hand
and clutching
the brazenly colourful photography
in the other one
Nobody cares
that the pills in fact were
rat poison
the cat was a teddy bear
and the street
one of the longest ways
ever
And there was no photography
