Theory of Evolution

Not every step in life
is meant to be smooth;
how else could we grow
and learn along the path?

Not every word from our mouths
can come out perfectly clean;
how else could we be pushed
to expand our language of love?

Not every truth that they claim to have
is quite so self-evident and clear;
how else could these documents breathe
and bring about a more peaceful union?

Not every glimmer in our eyes
is meant to sparkle with the stars;
how else could we seek God
in moments of silent darkness?

Not every song from the birds
can lead to a symphony under the sun;
how else could the hawks soaring the sky
find a feast to keep their wings strong?

Not every moment in time
can be blessed by the divine…
or maybe that’s wrong,
because I swear
that with you by my side
it all seems holy.

De Evolutie Theorie
Niet elke stap in het leven
is zonder moeilijkheden;
hoe kunnen we anders groeien
en leren tijdens onze levenswandel?

Niet alle gesproken woorden
zijn altijd een voorbeeld van perfectie;
hoe kunnen we anders worden gemotiveerd
om de taal der liefde beter uit te drukken?

Niet elke beweerde waarheid
is vanzelfsprekend helder en duidelijk;
hoe kunnen we anders deze vaststaande feiten
loslaten naar een meer vredige eenheid?

Niet elke sprankje in onze ogen
is bedoeld om te schitteren als de sterren;
hoe kunnen we anders God vinden
in momenten van donkere stilte?

Niet elk lied van een vogel
is een zonovergoten symfonie;
hoe kunnen anders de haviken, al zwevende,
een feestmaal vinden voor hun sterke vleugels?

Niet elk moment des tijds
is gezegend en hemels ...
of misschien is dat niet juist,
want ik zweer
met jou bij mijn zijde
is alles heilig

Tease
There is more to life
than can be easily deciphered.

Hieroglyphs mulled over
in broken tongues.

Glimpses of revelation
grasped for fleeting moments,
only to shatter
as if never seen at all.

Plagerij

Er is meer in het leven
dat makkelijk kan worden ontraadselt.

dan gepieker over hieroglyfen in
gebroken woorden.

Een onthullend sprankje van

voorbijgaande momenten,
verbrijzeld alsof
het nooit gezien is.
