Brian Walker

Brian Walker
Studied English at Wakefield College in Yorkshire England this stimulated Brian’s love of writing and his introduction into poetry. He drew his themes from local coffee shops in towns, what he called people watching. He travelled Europe in the 1970s taking in most countries including Poland and the Auschwitz camp, all the while writing down new poems about what he saw, felt and understood about the area.

You may find some of his poetry blunt and cruel, but as he says: ‘I write it as I see it’ He suffered epilepsy back in 2000 and this has given him a new insight to life and death. A great deal of his best work has come from this period as he sank to a new low and death was very near. This is reflected in some of the poems of this time. The poetry he writes is of an emotional, yet invigorating style that lets the reader feel the power of each written word. At the moment he lives in Lowestoft Suffolk with his black cat. He’s hoping to publish a book of his poems in the new year.
