Chance Encounter with a Poet’s Psyche

April returns in its cyclic journey
poets become nervous and agitated
contemplating the cruellest month,
the words attack us from beyond
is there solace in their cadence and flow?
is there any salvation in the metrical incantations?

Can chance allow us to write the unconscious?
dark forbidding alleys with dead-ends
dilapidated doorways signal caution
like received truths and bourgeois presumptions
inappropriate doctrinal rules and suppositions,
their fleeting shadows frustrate our creations.

The momentary awareness of the danger of words
stabs the amoral primal unconscious,
chance associations are unique creations,
dancing with energy as they hit the page
each ignore the database of preconceived ideas
generating poignant moments through their own volition
then dragging them into the psychoanalytical morass.

Hyperlinks characterise the unconscious writ large
and answer the mythical allusions of poetry,
creating verdant emotional tensions
drifting into the high end of synapse syncopation,
the momentary awareness of dangerous desire
dissolves previous mysterious states of time
opening a violet spectrum of possibilities.
