As Ogden Nash
says,
“Praise the
spells and bless the charms,
I found April in
my arms.”
I agree as I find this April morn
Sunny and cloudy - magically
Spring in all its glory…
Rambling through a Canadian trail in the
stunning sunset hours, a rendezvous
With Nature’s bounty!
A dappled sky and the touch on the visage
of the clean breeze crispy
Chirks up the body.
A gentle, recently-thawed lake’s
undulating water on one side meandering
With long dry autumnal shrubs to enflamed
hue changing
Graceful pair of geese with long upright
necks the waters from the watery edges overseeing
Their high-pitched squeaks of the geese
with the brood in a V-shape returning
The snow-covered patch - jade till
yesterday,
Has now livened up with attractive pink
dandelions striking
An American Robin like a mendicant in
meditation perched atop a leafless tree
Singing mellifluously
Soars your spirit as if in a Paradise.
To conclude with the great English bard,
William Shakespeare:
“When proud-pied April, dressed in all
its trim
Hath put a spirit of youth in
everything.”
