Translated from Hindi into English: Sunil Sharma
In the---
ashes of the
Lord Shiva
dance of the
dust of life
anonymity of the
dark labyrinths
swirls of the
dusty earth
flowing river’s thirst
and sometimes
in the un-nameable
expectations
of your eyes, everywhere
I try to retrieve the lost identities
but
these selves get embedded
in the
lines of my clenched
palms
and
the closed palms do not
open up easily!
The Day Arrives
After collecting the nightly
stars
decorate the day’s dress
with them
now
the vacant yard of the
night
shimmers with the day’s
splinters
as a
gesture of
defiance
the setting sun in a
far-off place
emerges from the
embrace
of
the horizon.
