Accented Syllables
The woman looks out of the window
while on public transit--
Tall buildings, bustling streets,
the flow of traffic and much more...
The window itself reflects
the interior of the vehicle
adding another layer of perspective.
The cityscape and the images continue
and she wishes to escape the boredom.
Overwhelming thoughts
come and create corrosion.
Despite being surrounded by people
she feels disconnected--
No friendly immersion!
The relentless demands of a busy life,
the struggle to balance
career and relationships, and
her daily commute to work,
have made her life a sorry saga
full of dull and hectic happenings.
Emotional depletion--
The whispers of her own desires
have drowned in the bustle.
Amid a thousand tasks,
a millions demands,
she seems to have lost touch
with her own identity and passion.
A withered flower
in a concrete vase,
she yearns for a patch of earth
to call her own!
