SEWA honors Anurag Sharma

Kalyan (India) based SEWA's Monthly Open Mike Session on March 24, 2018 was special.

Anurag Sharma, Editor-in-Chief of Setu was the chief guest of this event which took place at K. M. Agrawal College, Kalyan (W). The function was graced by the presence of noted poets, authors, and academicians from Kalyan-Dombivali, Ulhasnagar, and Ambarnath region.

Dr. Sunil Sharma introduced the guests followed by the mission and vision of SEWA explained by Mr. Naman. The much appreciated poetry recital by Mr. Maurya and Mr. Sahu was followed by a deep discussion about challenged being faced by Hindi in India and abroad.

Tributes were paid to Kedarnath Singh. A few poems by Mr. Singh.were recited with explanation by  Dr. Pandey.

Anurag Sharma was honored for his contribution to literature and Hindi through traditional media, new technologies. Awardee of the President's Police Medal, Mr. Atul Sharma, Assistant Commandant (CRPF), and famous English poet Mr. Gopal Lahiri were two special guests of the event. Both were presented with honor plaques for their contribution to literature.



Dr. Singh, Dr. Mishra, Dr. Sangeeta Sharma graced the function by their presence and actively precipitated in the dialogue on Hindi.

  Recipient of the UK-based Destiny Poets' inaugural Poet of the Year award---2012.Recently, among others, the winner of the Nissim International Prize for Excellence in English Literature (Prose) for the year 2022 for his political novel Minotaur. His poetry was published in the prestigeous UN project: Happiness: The Delight-Tree-2015.
