Gandhi's Wisdom (Gandhian Philosophy)

Shalini Samuel
In a world where shadows often reign,
Gandhi's wisdom still lights the way,
"Be the change," he said, so plain,
A beacon of hope in the darkest day.

"An ounce of patience," his words echo,
More valuable than endless speech,
For in stillness understanding, we find,
Priceless lessons, love, and unity teach.

"In a gentle way," we must aspire,
To shake the world with love and grace,
For in kindness, we can rise higher,
Humanity's noble, compassionate face.

"The greatness of a nation," he declared,
Measures not in wealth or might,
But in how animals are treated and cared for,
He is a mirror reflecting the good virtues of humanity.

Gandhi's quotes, like stars in the night,
Guide us toward a brighter morn,
With love, patience, and compassion's light,
A better world, together, we will adorn.

Child's Play
---Shalini S
Of His largesse imperial games,
adored the spherical aqua ball.
Whirling it excited Him.
Packed with water and sand;
Decorating it green with trees;
Positioning vibrant flowers here and there;
Multihued fruits ornate trees;
Everywhere green and blue,
made His eyes dull.
He places dynamic lively dolls;
Puppet shows being played everywhere;
Emotional dolls dancing according to His wish;
Remotely controlling every progress;
Active and alert are His moves.
And dear Creator,
in your child's play,
kindly compose my puppet show,
with love and care
making it a grand success.

Prayer for Survival

Summer Started Speedily
Scorching Sun, Sweating Stupidly,
Stressful Sleep, Shrubs Suffering,
Studies Stopped, Shelters Searing,
Standstill Seconds. . .
Splashing Stream,
Still Seem a Dream.
Superior, Share thy ear
Seeking Sufficient Shower
Is our prayer for Survival.

Lovingly I hate you dear

Fear of missing you my life
You will leave me, I fear
Wish to be your loving wife
I want to be always yours
And want you to be mine
For then the world will be ours
And our life will shine
Unite us together Lord
Do you hear my word?
Will you leave me to die?
Or say him not to lie
Will not he be wise as everyone says?
Will I get a reward for the good I did till the day

Sixth Sense

Seconds turn over habitually
Diverse faces we exhibit
Dissimilar people we meet
Disparate characters we display
Benevolent, akin to a cat’s gentle pat
Ruthless, resembling a roaring tiger
Regal, reminding a lion
Wicked, reminiscent of a jackal
Annoyance, analogous to a hen
Faithful, similar to a dog
Faces exposed reflects back
What’s our identity?
Where’s our human face?
Is this called sixth sense?

Arrogant Imitation

Perplexed he stood alone, gallantly
midst hindering thorns;
Himalayan hurdles hugging tight;
A dearth of helping hands,
yet triumphed, owing to valor.

Downhill, striving curious minds
In quest of valuable assistance;
Pride clouds passing, hides his eyes
Making him arrogant
Akin to the seniors, he reviled

Cursing his society, the world
For shoddier experience, he faced
Ignorant is he, a member of the public
Exhibiting his revenge towards people
Is it a cultured humane behavior?

Lovers Flower

Shalini Samuel
Kanyakumari

On the bed of roses, she is the pretty rose
Clad in a velvet blue gown, she is his muse
He plucks the stars to decorate her angel house
Gifting her a flower from heavens garden
He goes on his knees
Oh maiden! You have won my heart
This everlasting flower, I brought for thee
From the deepest ocean of my heart
Its lovers flower, let you know its greatness
Akin a chameleon, it changes hue, sans Photoshop
The emotions of the owner, it reflects
Let it be yours, from today,
The pink flower changed red in her hands
Are you scared, queried she holding his hand
She ran towards him comforting his hands
Yes dear, I am afraid of losing you, he smiled
Her eyes expressed love, tears rolled down
Excited of having the best present -she blushed

He let the lovers flower stay locked in our hearts
And our soul mate holds the key to decipher it.

His Ladylove

by dawn, the handsome prince grabs a white rose
if not the day does not pass by
the handsome prince walks over the bridge
if not the day does not pass by
the handsome prince dries his ladylove's attire
if not the day does not pass by
the handsome prince glides through the woods
if not the day does not pass by
the handsome prince drinks his reflection, by the riverside
if not the day does not pass by
the handsome prince jumps over snowy mountains
if not the day does not pass by
the handsome prince feeds his green children
if not the day does not pass by
the handsome prince bathes in the sea
if not the day does not pass by
Bidding goodbye, Sun the white rose gifts himself to earth.
until then the day never passes by for earth, his lady love

Death is a myth

If death was just a disease
You and I are sinners
For burying a million men
In hot sand,  amidst trillion mites.

A million souls cry from beneath
Grieve they, trapped in coffins
Astral travel, they opt for
To come back to their loved ones.

If death was just a disease
Where muscles stop working
A moving doll just loses charge
And we have the medicine to cure

Then,

How life would be easier
I wish the day is near,
Where mortals are just a myth
And immortality becomes reality!

Lets know what we knew for ages
Lets dive into the secrets of sages
You can live forever, if you wish
Your life cannot end in a swish.

Withstand and win

Chanced upon a rock in the midst of the sea
Gave ears to his years of persistence, my accomplice
Never-ending waves loom and thwart his seconds
Crores of silver foam hides his unique distinctiveness
Yet, he stands stable, deep-seated in the bed of calmness
Arise oh ye waves, come and slay me, he dares
Arriving from infinite directions, the waves rejoice
In unison, they hold hands for a loot – a merciless plunder
Striking, again and again, the white caps kill themselves
Revealing the sagacious old rock once again
Azure blue waves do wear him down persistently
Olive green parasites feed on his outer crust
Yet, he endures every trespasses and bully
In the mighty sea of deceits, he thrives as a lonely tavern
Confronting every wave, every foam
He shapes himself resilient than ever,
With a hope of fathering a peaceful serene island.
Be the rock in the midst of the sea, my comrade.

Life in a Hell

It's quite a hell
the sun above
burns everything below

It's quite a hell
When the clouds never appear
and the shades disappear

It's quite a hell
when summer starts
hitting our heads

It's quite a hell
when the power goes off
and inverter stops working

It's quite a hell
when you yearn for rain
the sun sucks the last drops

It's quite a hell
when the sky grabs all
but gives back nothing

It's quite a hell
when every day is sunny
and there's no rain

It's quite a hell
when every move is a failure
and there's no success

It's quite a hell
when you have to read a poem
but it gives back no smiles

It's quite a hell
...
because we live in hell
