Poetry: Jaydeep Sarangi

Jaydeep Sarangi
A Stretch of Silence

Barefoot you walk.
Divorce isn't the shelter
from the scorching love.
Nor the cool deep in a pond
away from the heat.
Friends paint the frames with colours.

Silent you are only
a poem away from happy togetherness.

Mirror

Every day I read
My reviewer’s voice.
A mirror for me,
vital dose among the pitted ruins
long daily waiting
defiant, and waiting again.
I extend my hands in desperation
I endure all hurts,
phones unanswered.

Time and the superfast train
have no mouth, only nasty teeth.
I continue walking back and forth
watching the blue of the sky
prepare my mirror
to set in front of me
soaring and alluring.
