My digital artwork over the
past twenty years has investigated the technoMetamorphosis of
humanity.
Briefly it asks the question, sometimes subtly -
sometimes brutally – what sort of future do you want your children and
grandchildren to inherit?
Artificial intelligence has
come of age and has irrevocably become part of our existence; robotics and
prostheses have reached levels of sophistication barely dreamt of a few years
ago. Together with this technoMetamorphosis, the “dumbing down” of
humans, as predicted by Aldous Huxley and Alvin Toffler over fifty years ago,
continues apace. We no longer have to “think”, the Internet, media, smart
devices, social media and television do this for us. Most of the artworks below
have been recently created, have not been shown before, and as usual address
techno-dystopian issues.
