Vatsala Radhakeesoon: Author of the Month

Blessing the Sea
Acrylic on mixed media paper

Vatsala Radhakeesoon
Sea Scene

Fluid reflections
of the sheltering sky
Flashes
of gleeful green algae
Watery curves
tiptoeing like in a ballet

On the tropical beach
Artist and Poet
Both mesmerized,
plunged in the trance
of inspiration
create their well-carved pieces

The day breeze
carries light
Orange, yellow, White
The day breeze
carries a vibrating voice
echoing
“ O my vast canvas
mystifying souls
with predominant blue!
May you be
toxin-free
torment-free
tear-free
May your life be
an eternal song
of mirthful mermaids.

L’insouciance (Being Carefree)
Acrylic on mixed media paper
29.7 x 21 cm

L’insouciance (Being Carefree)

Sitting on the tearless throne
of nuage rose
I can feel  the fredoom
of feminine lights
Some colours sprinkled, splashed
even on my shadows

Softer is the tropical summer sun
Unburdened is noble nature
Dark blue boats of broken hearts
have drowned

Swirl, swirl my birth year –
the snake
Now, I’ve shed the skin
of mental stress
Harmony  hums in red heart
I’m detached from all boundaries,
all conventionalities
I live in the now
the simplified life

God blesses me
with the ambrosia of l’insouciance.
