Sonia Taneja has been teaching Hindi at the University level since 2005. After being a Hindi lecturer at Columbia University and UC Berkeley, she has been an Assistant Professor of Hindi at the Defense Language Institute (DLI) in Monterey. Now she teaches as a Hindi lecturer at Stanford University in California. She teaches American and Indian-American students.
She has prepared several city, state and federal level Hindi exams in the United States. Few years ago, she worked on a team to prepare the Hindi certification exam for the State of California to qualify teachers of Hindi for K-12 teaching in California Public Schools. She has also worked on various localization projects at well-known companies in the Silicon Valley.
In 2012, she published a textbook geared toward new learners of Hindi (see Amazon.com). She has also written articles for magazines here and in India and attended conferences. Her latest textbook titled BASIC HINDI 2 WORKBOOK: рдоूрд▓ рд╣िंрджी 2 рдХाрд░्рдпрдкुрд╕्рддिрдХा has been published by Setu and is available at Amazon.
She recently presented at Setu Bilingual International Literary Festival, in Toranto, Canada, and earlier at the International Hindi Association’s (IHA) conference that was held in Carrollton, Texas.
