Poetry: Adnan shafi

Adnan Shafi
Wreckage

Just flickers and
impressions,
Squalls blast
down the foyer,
Hums across
the house...
I behold people
flinging like toys
the surge of sadism
rends the probity in
seconds;
Bursts through the
veins into the heart
and razes the whole
life in micro-seconds

Twilight

Through the haze
Of twilight, the
beams of xii
flashlights cut
through;
Meanwhile, a
dozen maniacal
lads hurry through
the gloaming,
dazzling their
flashlights around,
searching me in
the abyss.
***

A pen

Holding a pen,
Years of angst
Cut through a
countenance;
Dingy haloes
under the eyes
picture a glint filled
with dead nights ;
Bit by bit encircled
by dead air except
for the celibacy.
