प्रेरणा सिंगला

परस्तिश

हर कोई वफा-परस्त होता नहीं गुलिस्ताँ में,
कहीं-कहीं गुल काँटों की चुभन दिया करते हैं।

मैं काँटों की बेल से बना एक ताज हूँ,
कामयाबी समझ कर लोग मुझे पहन लिया करते हैं।

फिर कहते हैं क्यों हुई रुसवाई बेवजह,
जब बेवजह खुद ही मोहब्बत किया करते हैं।

आफ़ताब-ए-किरन पर्दा उठाती है ज़मीं से
और लोग उसे भोर समझ लिया करते हैं।

ज़र्रा-ज़र्रा ज़िंदगी में बहती है 'प्रेरणा',
कभी लोग तुझे अपना, कभी ग़ैर किया करते हैं।

बाजे-बाजे हुस्न को बर्बाद हो जाना लिखा है ।

बाजे-बाजे हुस्न को बर्बाद हो जाना लिखा है,
कहीं शमशान-ए-गुल को आबाद हो जाना लिखा है।

झड़ते हैं यूँ तो पत्ते भी पतझड़ों में बेशुमार
कहीं डाल का सूख कर झड़ जाना लिखा है।
चमकते हैं यूँ तो आफ़ताब शौहरतों के,
कहीं उम्मीद की लौ का ढल जाना लिखा है।
बाजे-बाजे हुस्न को बर्बाद हो जाना लिखा है।

सड़ती हैं यूँ तो ताबूतों में लाशें मरने वालों की
कहीं-कहीं मुर्दा रिश्तों का सड़ जाना लिखा है।
आती-जाती हैं लहरें यूँ तो यकायक
वक्त की लहरों का लेकिन ना मुड़ जाना लिखा है।
बाजे-बाजे हुस्न को बर्बाद हो जाना लिखा है।

रह जाती हैं बातें अनकही यूँ तो लबों पर
कहीं अनकहा फसाना हो जाना लिखा है।
बनते हैं यूँ तो घरौंदे ही मिट्टियों के 'प्रेरणा',
कहीं बशर का खुद मिट्टी हो जाना लिखा है।
बाजे-बाजे हुस्न को बर्बाद हो जाना लिखा है।

Prerna Singla

IN BETWEEN THE LEACHING COLOURS!

I am an artist of love
and I am painting
a canvas over a canvas,
A colour over a colour,
A vision over a vision
And a scenery over a scenery
Thinking...
That maybe someday
I paint a perfect picture
But every time I tried
A colour merged with another
A knife scrapped a brush stroke
A vision embedded in another
And the scenery lost its form
'Twasn't the one I had erased
Nor the one I had planned
Neither the hues of the past
Nor the ones coveted by tomorrows
But somewhere in the middle
A blend of all.
With the fragrance of fresh and old paint,
A scenery with the meadows in hues of the sea
A morning sky painted like a blue-black starry sky
And somewhere in between the leaching colours
Was my bleeding heart!
Somewhere between the layers
I was standing still in love.
