Belinda Subraman

You then reckon it’s about time to skedaddle over Texas way, because it would not be a proper and thorough visual arts showcase without including some of the resplendent, singular artistry of the incomparable Belinda Subraman, and thankfully upon arrival she proves entirely game and has some rich, majestic paintings to contribute.  Belinda is a true blue icon and phenomenon in her own right, with a mythos and background so astonishing and storied it belongs on the silver screen.  You encountered her through a long running, epic series GAS which she has been hosting showcasing poetry, art, and music.  Reading her collection of poems “Blue Rooms, Black Holes, White Lights” (multitalented Belinda is, besides painter she is an accomplished writer, political activist, healer) you learned of her eventful past, which among other things included run-ins, mentorship and lengthy associations with Bukowski, Burroughs, Henry Miller, and also accidentally inventing the podcast genre stupendously.

Belinda selflessly does so much for so many people, you’re over the moon thrilled to have an opportunity to promote and draw attention to HER amazing, wonderful contributions to the art world and posterity, which she has made euqally invaluable endowments too over the course of a magical, dedicated lifetime.  You were so thrilled also to see her at the Intuitive Art Expo recently in the International Museum of Art in El Paso with her paintings, hope those who enjoy them here might consider someday adding an original to their personal collections, and will also tune in to the engaging GAS programs she regularly hosts, which may be easily located on YouTube!
