You, My Love

God was in my dreams,
Not one among my fleeting dreams.
As you were in His schemes,
On you I wrote my reams.

You came as a gentle flame,
Breathing life into my name.
Your eyes, like dawn’s first light,
Made the shadows take their flight.

I sought you in every prayer,
And felt your presence everywhere.
No star could outshine your grace,
No night conceal your face.

You, my love, my soul’s delight,
The hymn that crowns my endless nights.

Farewell to Love

Letters I had written to her were many,
Yet in words she replied to none;
But with the ink of her youthful perfume
She transcribed her love all over me.

Verses of longing I had inked for her,
Tucked in a book of emotive poems.
In return she left petals of flowers,
Hidden within the book she gave back.

Velvety smooth were her responses,
Whose fragrance restored my esteem.
I read in them all the unsaid she held,
Too shy to give voice to her heart.

My written words stood slightly raised,
And touching them filled me with grief.
In silence resounded her loneliness,
As tender to touch was our love.

Love reigned between silence and verse,
Nourished by both the said and unsaid.
Poignant was the farewell to our passion,
As we gazed at each other, in pain, at our loss.

The Flame that Endures

Life is a shrine of contradictions,
Built of joy and tumult side by side.
So are men and women merry,
Though their visions stand apart,
On truths of life not far removed.

Yet passions rise and cravings burn,
Drawing them into one embrace,
To breathe a wonder none can know
Without the other’s living breath.
What keeps this candor so alive?

A sense of mystery, an endless pull,
Two forces twined, though bent askew.
With minds so shaped in different frames,
Is it not the flame each tends for the other

That keeps them burning all their lives —
Each moment hollow when apart,
Each absence scented with longing?
Perhaps it is what we call love,
That quickens two devoted hearts.

Discords may come and regrets take hold,
As tempests scatter fragile days.
Yet true love finds its boundless ways
To bear the storms that pass,
And keep two souls within its shelter.

The Veil

O my love, the night begins to pale,
Its vibrant hues are slowly fading.
I’ve waited in the hush of dark
To behold you, shy, as you lift your veil.

I long for your gaze to meet mine,
To feel the quiet storm it holds.
A firework in hushed colors might bloom,
And veil the night in wanton smoke.

A shroud of clouds has cloaked the moon.
The night inhales a solemn breath;
The stars suspend their sparkling song
As the moon weeps beneath its veil.

Those tears have drowned the unseen sparks
That never glimpsed the light of day.
She did not lift the veil from her eyes,
And smitten still, I sang like a nightingale.

Petals of My Youth

The seasons, once endless in my youth,
Scatter now like petals in the wind,
Their smell a faint echo of flowers
Long befallen to the soil of the past.

Memories lie waiting,
Ablaze in the quiet corners of my heart,
Where lovers once danced
Through fields of unspoken dreams.

Love, in its torment, leaves traces,
A shadow here, a sigh there,
Reflected in the mirror of solitude.
Yet even in desolation,
Companionship blooms,
A fragile flower breaking through the cracks.

For hearts do not forget,
But carry the weight of what was,
Woven into the longing for what could be.
And in the waiting, there is beauty,
A quiet hope, a tender ache,
That love, like spring, will return
To paint the world anew.

A Garden Aglow

Life, aglow with fleeting seasons,
Weaves beauty from the threads of sorrow.
In the garden of suffering, spring blooms,
Its perfume a song of resilience,
A melody only love can compose.

Eyes meet, and the flood begins,
Not of despair, but of renewal,
Where hearts find bond
Beneath skies heavy with yesterday’s rain.

Love is the gardener,
Tending the fragile and forgotten,
Turning barren soil into blossoms,
Teaching us that even in sorrow,
Beauty waits to rise.

In the Glow of Evening

In the silence of the evening,
Where the last light lingers like a whispered secret,
Memories rekindle, soft flames in the heart.

Your eyes, stars guiding through the endless dark,
Hold a paradise I can never forget,
An embrace woven of promises and quiet truths.

Tears fall not from sorrow,
But from the weight of love’s enduring glow,
A warmth that stays close to me,
Even as the world shifts and fades.

Love is not a fleeting moment,
But the thread that ties the heavens to the earth,
A light that rekindles every time we remember,
Every time we choose never to let go.

Flames of Love

When I gazed at her,
A spark awoke the dormant fire,
And glowing red, I blushed anew.
Her smile fanned the embers bright,
And from their warmth, love’s poems flew.

Each word, a flicker, tender and shy,
Tracing her presence, the how and why.
Her laughter wove verses, soft and sweet,
And with each line, my heart would beat.

The flames of love, they danced and leapt,
Through silent nights and dreams well-kept.
No parchment vast enough to hold,
The story of love, both fierce and bold.

Echoes of a Dream

One day, wandering through the woods,
I glimpsed a lady bathing in a pond,
Her cotton saree clinging to murmurs of water.
Time faltered as her gaze met mine.

Transfixed by the lightning of that moment,
I let my eyes return her gaze,
A longing wrapped in molten desire,
Strong enough to melt glaciers to streams.

She was sweetness incarnate, a rare bloom.
The verses I murmured to her beauty
Fell like drops of nectar,
Binding us in an unspoken bond.

Hand in hand, we walked wooded trails
To the quiet warmth of her humble hut.
With a promise to meet again, I departed,
Yet she vanished, leaving only her memory.

Was she a fragment of some vivid dream,
Rippling through the still waters of my life?
She took with her my only love,
Leaving me a poet of colored dreams —

A heart bled dry, now painting the world
In hues of red and rose,
Forever caught in the ache
Of what was, or what might have been.

Love for Life

She gazed at me, eyes locking with mine,
Her voice unspoken yet achingly clear,
"Do you love me?" A question worn by time,
But never by her hunger.
"Endlessly," I murmured,
Drawing her close, my arms a haven.
Her thirst for my love, an unquenchable flame.

I gazed at her, eyes mirroring hers,
And felt the abundance of her heart.
Love poured forth, an untamed river,
Quenching the arid sands of my soul.
In her gaze, I found fullness,
Her love for me an ocean without end.

Love is no myth, no riddle to solve,
It thrives in the rhythm of hearts,
An elixir that blooms in every embrace.

I love her as deeply as she loves me,
Each of us fluent in our own language of devotion.
Whatever the words, the gestures, the silences,
Our love is eternal, our promise for life.

The Unyielding Flame

While wandering a desert in the hush of dawn,
To the east, the sun ascended, aflame,
While to the west, the moon lingered, fading, forlorn.

The sun’s fiery rays swept mercilessly,
Engulfing the moon in a blaze of dominance,
No shadow left for retreat.

The horizon, an unyielding witness,
Watched as the moon dissolved into brilliance.
Life is strewn with such silent duels.

Strong nations devour the weak,
Cannons blazing with might and fury;
The rich consume the dignity of the poor

Through the insidious fire of their wealth.
Giants of industry crush the small,
Fueling their ascent with unrelenting force.

Yet life is not all tempest and strife.
It offers the splendor of sunrises and sunsets,
And the quiet grace to tread upon clouds.

Above all, it carries the enduring power to dream,
A fire untouchable by any tyrant’s hand.
Why surrender to gloom when your dreams

Remain steadfast, a firepower infinite,
Ready to blaze the path ahead?

Through Fire, Salvation

A fire ignited, fierce and wild,
In the ocean of my restless mind.
Caught adrift in an orange-red storm,
I watched as its onslaught unraveled me.

Ripped to shreds, my soul lay scattered,
Splintered into fragments so small,
It took me years to stitch them whole,
Piece by fragile piece.

Though mended, the scars endured,
Each one a memory, etched and deep.
I was no longer who I’d been,
Transformed by pain into someone anew.

Through its ordeal, my soul found cleansing,
Burning away malice and fleeting desires.
It crossed the fiery threshold,
Emerging into solitude profound,
Where salvation waited in stillness.

Loneliness

Walking into the garden of my loneliness
My mind looked for some fruits to eat
And found a few of them dangling ripe
But all had mournful looks of despair.

Walking into the spring of my loneliness
I desired to sit on a swing chair hanging
On a tree branch in the garden of my woes,
But found no partner to accompany me.

Walking into the autumn of my loneliness
I saw a group of girls gazing at me.
The flakes of snow waved in the frosty air
And, distant to all the gazes, I walked away.

Listening to the violin evokes in me a forlorn feeling
That echoes my joys and pervasive losses
By escorting my inner screams from tears to grief.
Endowed is the violin with pensive heartstrings.

The Restlessness of Mind

With dawn still far out of sight
In its full radiance was the moon,
Showering me with its cool rays,
And in this glow was a cosmic touch
That put my heart in panic.

Infused with this tantric mysticism
I wondered about the microcosm
And the expanding gaze of the universe,
Which, even at its most extravagant,
Our mind might not unreel its tiniest part.

Living in this dazzling cosmic landscape,
Surrounded by the oceans of serenity
And the turbulence of warming glaciers,
The restlessness of the human mind
Finds comfort in the fireworks of volcanoes.

Paying Tribute

Look at the gale raining burbling pearls.
It was thrilling to see the falling serpents
With their long tails dissolving in water,
Disappearing into the drains.

As enthralling as the sight was for innocents,
It was boring for accustomed eyes.
The blazing sun waits for the roads to dry up
And the serpents will soon be part of the lore.

Captivating is the read of pitiless history
As I dig into the ruins of our unsparing past.
My heart trembles with deep joy as I pay tribute
To the snake coiled around Shiva's neck.

Love's Blushes

Love's agonies know no bounds.
The wound is deep, and it weeps.
Ineffectual are the remedies.
Smitten by a maiden's eyes,
I must pay a pilgrimage to her site
And relinquish myself to her care.

Sweet is the nectar that keeps me drunk.
Sweet are the enamored dreams
Which, like Pied Pipers of Hamelin,
Have lured me into a forest dense
With emotions, where I savor
The honeyed fruits of passion.

Love blushes with its fancies.
Once you inhale its fragrant tonic
Your wits go into a state of seizure,
And the poets enjoy a field day
Composing on these lovelorn souls
A lore that will keep their trade alive.

Petals of your Love

Seasons file past my aging youth
Each day I spend waiting for you.
You have never retraced your path,
Yet I have kept your memories ablaze,
Have not let them die down into ashes.
I have silvered my heart into a mirror
To see reflected in it
Our moments of companionship lost.

If you ever returned by this path
You would see the desolation
That has befallen this lane.
Lovers shudder to take this path.
Flowers no longer adorn the plants.
It would be futile to look for a bud
To offer it to one's tormented love.

If you were ever to retrace your path,
Knock at my door, my love,
To see me in a tattered state
With a notebook in my hands,
Signed with the ink of your devotion,
And carrying petals of your love
That you had left for me inside.
Even dry, they still smell of our love.

The Call of a Cuckoo

I love the call of the cuckoo
And the feeling it drips into its notes
That evoke in me a strange thirst
Which I have failed to unlock,
Leaving my mind in a restless state
With beads of longing echoing in me.

In the call of a cuckoo resides
The longing in a lover's heart,
Restless to meet his love.
A half-moon hangs in the sky.
Each day takes an age to walk, but
Many such ages he has survived

Without laying eyes on her.
What type of mystery is love
That makes days count like ages?
What type of flame is love,
Which, once started burning,
No extinguisher can stall?

Love’s passion has taken on wings,
Ready to break away from the path
That the wise have tread.
Not far away was the devastation.
He had yet to discover how to apologize.
Civility was not his stronghold

And he had still to imbibe remorse.
But if ages were to stretch on,
Alas, succumb he will to his demons.
Before that fateful day arrives,
O cuckoo, please go to his love
And let her listen to your music.

While she is lost in your poignant calls,
Soothingly drenching the void in her heart,
He will surrender himself to her mercy.

A Life Lived with Intent

Lingering in the distant stars
Live my vanished dreams
Of the time I was a little boy
Who slept in the moon's arms,
Listening to the music of the stars.

Woven in pure plain cotton,
Simple were those cozy dreams.
All adorned with threads of love,
They had only one desire, to fly high
And to float on the blue of the sky.

As feathers of wool do not fly,
My storied might deserted me
And failed to make those dreams
Takeoff as my loved ones took leave,
So bereaved, I lost all desires.

The oceans cannot flow for long
Without washing dreams ashore,
Crowns are lost but battles not.
Dreams thought doomed can soon rebound
To fight new battles for glory lost.

Gathering clouds may not yet rain.
To lose the battle was not in vain.
The setting sun has a purpose set.
Dreams flying high have their day.
A life lived with intent is never lost.

A Misty Cascade of Joy

While trekking up the high mountains
Draped in clouds of translucent mist
A bewitching sight came calling on me.
A cheerful lady with a long scarf
And her angelic eyes half-closed
Sat there as if in her rosy dreams,
Gazing dreamily at the divine view.

I stood there flooded with fascination
By the beauty that beheld the instant,
Audacious and poised in its intensity.
Like a fitting musical interlude,
A fountain of love rippled inside me
As I fell for that velvety silence.

No ripples had made my passage.
A tranquil traveler, I was like any other
On my way for a walk in the forests
But at her sight I inhaled passion.
Desire leaped in me to liberate the sails
As her serene fragrance seeped into me.

Speechless was the shivering moment
When our gazes met and lit a fire.
She blushed and my voice wavered.
Fascinated by the deluge of love,
We bathed in the misty cascade of joy,
A mysticism flowering even today.

A Moonless Night

The light has fallen. The stars are out
As they wait for the moon to ascend,
But today is the moon's off day –
The sky must do without her.
Darkness can now repose peacefully,
With no moonlight to conquer.

On this moonless night, cold and airy,
I walk, hand in hand, with my beloved
And listen to her song of love.
She has a haunting melody in her voice
That lights a thousand moons in my heart.
She is the obsession of my life.

My love has an allure and mystic charm
Which has lit our togetherness in a glow.
I gaze in her youthful blushing eyes
And light them with a verse in her praise.
Envious, though, was not the moon.
It took a long sigh and fell in its dreams.

Love's Tragedy

O love, my bud of the spring of youth,
Engraved with your name this cool breeze
Has spread around the tales of your infidelity.
His tearful soul also floats on the breeze
That begs you not to bury his love alive
As apathy chips away at his life without you.

The pain that burns his heart in flames
Was a gift that you gave him by your smile
That had beamed through your eyes
When he had asked you nothing more
Than your name, and that instant treasured
In his heart keeps giving fuel to the flame.

The wound still dripping tears of despair
Was from a knife that had pierced his heart.
This lesion, a reminder of your na├пve smile,
Is a flower he had pinned to his heart.
Tears he had shed, the rivers overflowed,
But you did not come, and he is gone forever.

Autumn Winds

Sleepless nights are drowsy in their wait
The bed is like an ocean in turmoil
I cannot lie on my throne of sleep,
Your beseeching eyes seek me
Waiting for me to hold you in my arms
But I am anchored to my lonely bed.

The sand beaches where we played
And had the freedom to scream
Made us life-long companions.
We vowed passion would never pale
And swore upon the mounting tides
That our love would not disappear.

The stretch of time on the beach
Is long between tides low and high.
Castles built on this stretch are sure to melt.
I get restless, as the vow is ready to float
The autumn winds are lashing like a hail
And the tree of vows is losing its leaves.

Your Vows

My love, I plead you not to give me a vow
That you cannot keep, as life is long
And has all the time in store to veer back
And remind you of your unkept vows,
Mountains of which lie heaped at my doorstep,
Intoxicated as you are by my beauty.

Love is a tapestry that needs skills to design.
You have the freedom to create one for me.
Weave it not with vows to make me dream,
But live the dreams that you want to keep aloft,
And in this glimmer might flicker your flame.
So, love me as if there were no tomorrow.

Tomorrow will see the one who today survives.
Vows will keep the one who survives the winds.
The winds rage high, and intense is your flame
Which swallows me in your fierce desire.
There is no escape, drown I will in your embrace.
The forge is hot. Incandescent are your vows.
