Diwali Ghazal

Steffen Horstmann

- Steffen Horstmann

Pilgrims assemble amid candles in the night,
Transfixed in the radiance of a holy light.

Breezes circle the temples, whispering prayers
As moths swirl in a lantern's aura of gold light.

Fireworks are reflected in water & meld
Like rainbow colors that blend in the night.

The reflections of stars jewel an indigo sea
As zephyrs bend candle flames in the night.

Our songs echo across the glowing waters.
The sacred flames pulse & emit prisms of light.
