Sudden twilight shoos the lifeout of the small health resortand you can no

longer see what’s night what’s smog or which comes in darkerthe old

bustle’s imprinted in window openings in doors without jambsand you

can't tell anymoreif these were warehousesor poor Jewish homesthere

flashes the sleepless eye of a TV from a foreign era a border draws a

सोलैक सीमा

अचानक का साँझ जीवन को

छोड़ देती है छोटे स्वास्थ्य रिसॉर्ट से,

When I was youngthe trains were smellylate and crampedtoday in the

café car I eat bulgur with vegetablesand don't recognize my face in the

clean window I study the cycle of changethe law and lawlessness of fate

clean – dirtyfast – slowuncrowded - packed only handsome students

standingnear the WC haven’t changedand the pissed-on urinal.

पोलिश नेशनल रेलवे

जब मैं छोटा था,

ट्रेनें गंदी, लेट और भीड़ से भरी होती थीं।

आज, कैफ़े कार में

मैं बर्गर और सब्ज़ियाँ खा रहा हूँ

और साफ़ खिड़की में

अपना चेहरा पहचान नहीं पाता।

मैं बदलाव के चक्र को देखता हूँ,
